According to our noble provincial premiere, the fact that a few store owners are in the habit of ripping off their lottery customers is a clear sign that they shouldn't be allowed to sell Ontario-produced wines or micro-brewery beers:
Strange that he should pick on the lottery-seller scandal instead of the obvious talent that corner store owners have in restricting tobacco sales to minors... but I suppose you go with what's topical, eh?
"McGuinty says the power should remain in the hands of trained professionals at the LCBO and the Beer Store."

Even though I'd love it if I could pick up a beer at the local korean grocery instead of the beer store, if the government's new health focus is gonna be the health and social cost of alcohol, you can't really deregulate access on the one hand, eh?
Still, when I lived in Montreal, I'm not sure that I drank more than I did now... then again, I had less money then. It's a tough one to call.

And then on the other hand you have urban areas in the States where I fear that selling alcohol in generally unlicensed corner stores could be a contribution to urban decay.
