With all the ludorati enthusing in shivery anticipation about their GenCon plans, I must finally come to the hard admission that there will be no VikCon III this year. Events have conspired against me. Increases in work responsibilities, family responsibilities, and even regular play time commitments have all combined to the general lack of planning time to stage the event.

Whether there will be one next year has yet to be determined, but if it is to be held, it will certainly be held well before next year's GenCon.

The inaugural VIKCON boardgame event has come and gone and met with success. Since thebitterguy and doc_mystery have already commented on their blogs, I'll be brief. It was good to get together, meet some folks I hadn't met face to face, share some fun games and some food and drink.

I hope word will spread like wildfire, so that when the next event is announced even more folks can attend and join in the fun!

Now that the long weekend is over, it's back to work. High on my list of tasks is planning my next vacation...
