Last evening, for one reason or another, the question arose: how does one dispose of dynamite? Well, it appears that the most sensible method is: you find a remote place and you blow it up. Safe transport of dynamite seems to involve a sturdy container filled with machine oil.

Neither of which, of course, were followed by Jack Peacock of Kalaheo, Hawai'i. (We stayed a few miles away from where this happened when we were in Kaua'i; but luckily it was a year or two before this happened.)
