The LA Times reports that Sydney Pollack died yesterday at his home. I found his work as a director a bit uneven, but those I liked, I liked very very much. I also rather enjoyed his cameos as an actor. I think it's telling that he mashed up obviously serious work ("Eyes Wide Shut", "Husbands and Wives") with crazy silly bit parts ("King of the Hill").
I still haven't seen "The Interpreter", mostly thanks to my aversion to Kidman and Penn, but I'll put it on the list of "things to watch next" now.
