viktor_haagApparently, Andrea Bargnani had surgery to remove his appendix this morning. It at least wasn't perforated, but I gotta believe that cutting your gut open to remove something from your abdominal cavity probably means that Andrea will be out for the rest of the season including the playoffs. This can't be good news for the Raptors who, while they had a strong January and February, have looked a bit softer in March and have gone .500 for their last ten.
Coupling this with the nicking up that's settling in on Calderon and Parker and things are not looking too rosy in Raptor-land.
I guess that means that Bargnani's hopes of Rookie Of The Year honours are pretty much dead too. Barring a strange happenstance, I suppose you can pretty much hand the award over to Brandon Roy now.
Too bad, really -- this is not how Raptor fans wanted to see their team in the stretch drive.
