Lib leader redux
Jan. 26th, 2006 10:07Mary Vallis fom the National Post gives us this list of potential Gritty steers-folk:
- Martin Cauchon
- Stephane Dion
- Michael Ignatieff
- John Manley
- Frank McKenna
- Bob Rae
- Allan Rock
- Belinda Stronach
- Joe Volpe
And some flyers: Ken Dryden, Brian Tobin, Denis Coderre
As you can see, my lack of political savvy shines through: Goodale and Graham are nowhere near Vallis' list.
Interesting quote: according to Mary Vallis, "a lot of voters in Ontario remember too vividly the smoking mess [Bob Rae] left behind".
Oh really? That's funny; I rather remember the initial steps that Rae attempted to take in a tough economic climate, only to be jilted too soon by a greedy and impatient electorate and succeeded by a near-Thatcherite Tory regime that practiced slash-and-burn domestic policy for over a decade.
Hmph. Funny that. Rose coloured glasses, I guess.
